Sir,
I am directed by Mr.Secretary Chamberlain to
acknowledge the receipt of your letter No.34822/25 of
the 1st instant regarding the removal of the office of
the Chinese Telegraph Administration in Hongkong, and
to inform you that he concurs in the suggestion that
the Governor of Hongkong should be invited to discuss
the whole question on his return to this country
towards the end of the year.

Meanwhile, it is presumed that instructions have
been or will be sent to Sir R.E.Stubbs to refrain from
taking any steps in the matter pending the proposed
discussion.
